Not ridden Ashton Court for a long time, so this was a good opportunity to check out the new blue trail. Seems like - in creating the new trail - they've destroyed quite a bit of the old trails. Much of the new parts of the trail are a bit ho-hum. though there are a couple of new red sections which are a bit more challenging. Lots of pump bumps all over the place, too.

Took in Leigh Woods, getting pretty lost on some really gloopy trails before discovering there's another new blue trail there, too. There's also an interesting new skills area which is worth a visit. The ice from the last few days is thawing and what was firm ground was becoming anything but.

On the way back, we took in 50 Acre Wood. Mistake. It was sooooo muddy, the wheels just wouldn't go round. Completely jammed solid under the fork crown and the seat stays. Baled out after about 150m and had to carry the bikes back out! At least the new blue trails have a good all-weather surface.
